Any acupuncture fans out there?

I have a problem with my shoulder that I've been seeing a conventional MD for years about - getting shots, etc.

I'm thinking maybe I'll try some acupuncture if my BCBS covers it. I'm a little hesitant to try even though my ex sis-in-law swears by it.

Any success stories? (Ex sis-in-law's son had a problem with a facial nerve and acupuncture cured it or it resolved on its own.)

I've had acupuncture but not for such a specific condition :more like a bunch of things.
It helped me and i wouldnt have any qualms trying it.

If your shoulder problem is from an injury acupuncture may not help other than alleviate symptoms. It deals with the energy in the body, but then since pain = energy blockage it may help

You might want to try a Feldenkrais practitioner. It's a gentle but amazingly effective form of manipulation and movement that aims to restore natural functioning. If there is some dysfunction in your shoulder that is the cause or result of your injury, it might help stop the harmful pattern and set up a more functional one.

I'd suggest a good physical therapist. Went to a good one (a bad one in the past hadn't done any good) and she made a huge difference in my back pain.

Acupuncture deals with points on the body's energy meridians...the meridian stretching I've been doing might be something to look into along with the acupuncture. Helped me sort out a shoulder thing...
