Arch "falsies"

Did you know that ballet dancers can buy "falsies" for their arches, padding for the top of the foot so it looks like they have more of an arch when they point their feet? That cracked me up! I wonder what the equivalent would be for us?

Ack! My secret is out....

My equivalent in latin is the bra cups sewn into my costumes, one of my biggest fears is that my partner and I will collide during a comp and I'll dance the rest of my dances with a dent in one side...

One word: titanium!

I couldn't find the arch padding via google or froogle, btw. What are they called? (I'm guessing it's not "falsies." )

Owww....I think I'd have to pay my pro hazard pay if I used titanium. Just think of the bruises he'd have on his chest from the cucarachas!

They're called "Fancy Foot Arch Enhancers" and you can buy them at discountdance.com

I saw those too - and don't think we can use them... fishnets won't cover them up...

That's ok. Fishnets aren't allowed at USA Dance events anymore anyways. Although I guess you'd still have that problem at NDCA events.

I thought I recalled part of the costume rule change debate being about not allowing "mesh tights". I just looked back at the rulebook though, and it appears they have taken it out of the adult section. Thank goodness!

Ah, must of been one of the earlier drafts. That might have been a hard one to convince people to follow! (Although I'm still confused over the "no bows" rule for syllabus. Seriously, if I want to wear a bow on my butt, who are they to tell me its a bad idea?!) :D

Haha, didn't know about the "no bows" rule. We should start a "no bow boycott", and have everyone band together to wear bows on their butts for all syllabus events! Power in numbers! Haha. :)

Yes, the no fishnets thing was infuriating. You can't even see them from far away, and for many ladies (myself included) they are much more tasteful for latin than bare legs.
