Talking about social dancing (that is about improvisation and no routine, in a choreography it's easy to do anything):

You can go even further.
You can dance AT on salsa music (I've done it) ......[left out]
You just have to find a partner dancing salsa and AT, and able to adapt and use one dance on the other music.
But are there many dancers with a correct or good level in both salsa and AT?

By the way who is dancing salsa and AT here on DF?

well, there are worldwide hundreds of neotango dancers who improvise with partners to any music they like. they often have a Salsa or Swing or other background. check out our new poll (oct.2005) about exactly that topic: http://www.dance-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=11825&highlight=neotango

i have danced and taught tango and salsa for nearly a decade having lived and danced on three continents, now moving to a fourth..
neotango is my ultimate passion especially with girls who can follow salsa and (argentine) tango (-nuevo) :D

There's a Salsa styling step which I love, and the teacher who taught it to me calls it "the Tango step."

It's very simple. On the 6, 7 the woman simply bends her left leg and brings her right leg behind her in a great sweeping arc.

Simple, but effective! 8) :D

Rosa :)

PS: I don't dance Tango so I can't say how authentic this is.
