Part of the series - which I believe distinguishes it as a peer-reviewed book with its own hard-fought path to publication.

Yes reb, this is an academic title, meaning that the proposal needed to pass through peer review and the editorial board had to approve contracting the book in the first place, and that the manuscript itself had to pass peer review once written.

Just to be fair to everyone interested, this book is an academic title, and not directed at the causal reader who may have seen DWTS (or some such) on TV and thinks it might be cool to read about. Because the series this book was written for (Dress, Body, Culture) is an interdisciplinary one, I tried to stay away from too much disciplinary jargon, but there certainly are terms typical of the social sciences used throughout. I think those seriously interested in ballroom will be able to access the ideas and concepts, but it is an academic title... and I wrote it as such.

I just got your book in the mail yestarday!!!!I think everyone who is involved in ballroom should read this book. I have only looked at it abit.But, I can't wait to dive into it.... Great work.
