Ballroom partner in Boston

Hi All,

I will be moving to Boston for work this summer. I started competing with my school's team about three years ago, and I would love to continue after I graduate if I can find a partner. Im about 5'9", and dance at the gold/prechamp level for latin and standard. I have no idea how to go about finding a partner or studio, so I figured I'd start here. Thanks in advance for all your help!

Alex

I know we have some members in the Boston area, hope they will be along soon to recommend studios etc.

Until then, welcome to DF aarazawaa!

Uh, it might help to provide a little additional detail, like whether you're male or female!

LOL, like Joe says, partner-wise, that would help. Is that Alex as in Alexander or Alexandra?

As for studios in Boston, I recommend the pros at SuperShag for coaching (and when last I was there, they also coach the Brandeis team, so there are people there who'd know collegiate dancers looking for partners.) On this very board we also have Larinda McRaven, who coaches out of Newton (when last I heard.) Can't go wrong with her, either.

I have heard that the MIT Ballroom Team is really good, maybe they would be able to help you find a partner. I don't know if they would allow you to join the team, but it's worth an inquiry :)

Where you'll want to go to may also depend upon where you'll be living and what transportation you have. Do you know what city you'll be in and whether you'll have a car?

you could also contact the studios around the Boston area- Dance Republic, Firebeat, StarDance, Dance Fever, etc.
good luck!
