Battle of the Cover Bands and a frentic Crowd

We have La Juan D'Arienzo playing here on March 6. They'll be playing for a 4,500 square-foot dance floor that's part of a bigger space. I already have my tickets . . . I hope they're good!

To follow up: It was awesome. The bandleader said there were 600 people in the house. I have to admit that the floor was a bit of a catastrophe – because better than half of the attendees were dancers who show up only for special events, and who aren't used to the milonga environment – but the orquesta was great!

La Orquesta D'Arienzo is amazing. They were the "resident" orquestra in La Viruta in 2013-2014, and they played every friday night to open the milonga. La 2x4 (the tango radio from Buenos Aires) has been covering La D'Arienzo's successful tour through North America and always talks about the awesome reception the orquesta has been getting in Canada, Mexico and the USA. I'm really glad for you to have a chance to attend one of their concerts!
Here's a picture of them playing in La Viruta back in the day:

They're really great guys: Chatting with everyone, smiling full-time, pulling little musical pranks, mingling between and after sets, etc. They also make eye contact with the dancers to encourage us. :) I know the event organizers, and they said it was a pleasure to deal with them behind the scenes as well. I'll certainly be attending if I cross their path again!
