I danced standard.
 
I've not competed in standard for awhile... Most of my dresses are dark colors though. Even with a load of tanner on, I'm still very pale... In Latin, it actually makes my legs stick out more.
 
I wanted to revisit this, as I just competed in all black. Unstoned, even. Apparently, we pulled focus just fine ;)

The dress also got more compliments in a single competition than I think I have ever gotten on all my dresses combined. It's leading me to believe that maybe, sometimes, in the right circumstances and when carefully chosen, black can work.
 
Interesting from me as well - I recently competed in a black latin dress. in fact, it was a black latin practice wrap dress, that i had a few jet stones added and wore with big AB jewelry. Very understated. Very "I don't need all your bling, just look at my dancing." (in reality it's because I've gained weight and didn't fit into my other dresses as well;))

And I got nothing but compliments on my elegant and understated look. so much so that i'm going to wear it again at a big comp this week.

bright platinum hair, wicked dark tan, black dress = a win for me.
