blackpool floor

I was told that a long time ago the blackpool floors were slippery because they did not clean the floor and therefore a lot of dust built up. Does anyone know if this was the case and what is the condition of the floors now. thanks in advance

I've heard the total opposite - the floor is supposedly nothing short of immaculate. Worst thing to be said about the venue is a near total lack of warm up / practice space - a lot of competitors end up running routines in the hallway etc. If I recall correctly they did clean the floor in between rounds and sometimes during rounds to keep it from being too dusty.

the person I spoke to use to compete in blackpool maybe 20 -30 years ago. must have been so hot (maybe humid) with so many people on the floor and in the hallways!

Ah, could be they've since addressed the issue. My source was current competitors who were not yet high schoolers even 20 years ago.

I didn't notice the heat too much except towards the end of pro latin when it got more packed (I was only there for two days - am Latin and pro latin). And that was still refreshing compared to outside (the English coastline in May is quite chilly or at least was this year). I'm also a Texan so I have a high threshold for heat out of necessity.
