Blurry Eyes

Hi Everyone,

I've took a break from AT, and now just started dabbling in it again. As a leader this is a little bothersome, but it seems my vision becomes blurred when leading. I laugh, thinking perhaps all the processing power is focused on other aspects, connection, musicality, balance, etc. Has anyone experienced this?

Re: blurred vision

Hi tido, welcome to DF. Beginners (perhaps you are none) use to fold and buckle in close hold. There are several tango substyles: in Tango de Salón you dance right to left temple, but in Milonguero right temple to forehead. Better stretch out and have the woman´s head a little bit deeper.

Hello Tido! Welcome to the DF.

I am not a doctor, but I want to say to never take blurry vision lightly. When was the last time you went to a doctor? Do you have problems regulating your blood pressure? Please let me know. Thanks!

Hello, Tido. Welcome.
Interesting. You know, there is a state of unfocused awareness. Some of you martial arts people can comment on that. I wonder...

If you wear contact lenses and open and close your eyes which is more likely to happen when you are dancing than most other activities or a lady keeps her head close to your eyes, this sometimes gives me blurry vision.

Hi Everyone, thank you for the kind welcome. As far as I know I'm healthy and do not wear any eye aids.

But your responses got me thinking perhaps it is the orientation of our heads. In hindsight this blurry vision occurred when I was dancing with the teacher, who was the same height as me, perhaps a little taller. Perhaps it is related to the applied temple pressure. How do I address that? Move my own head?
And I'll let the doctor know about it the next time I'm visiting. Thanks for all your thoughts.

Cheers,
Tido

Heads should just TOUCH. There should be no pressure (via pressing) on each other's head.

That is correct. And, depending on who you are dancing with, you may not choose to have your heads touch at all.

No head contact??????? The nicest thing about tango after the embrace is putting my cheek next to his and feeling his breath in my ear. We are close enough to whisper something without anyone else hearing.

I agree completely, but I may not want to whisper to some of my partners, and they may not want me whispering to them.
