What type of oil do you guys use in order to get the "glistening" effect on legs (and body). I always get the pros to do that for me right before competitions and therefore am not familiar with any american brands.
Thanks ;)

Actually, I haven't seen any of us use oil...that could be dangerous! Instead, I think you may be referring to the VERY fine powders that are available in mostly all stores at this time.
They come in many pearlescent colors of bronze, gold, pink shades and silver shades.
I have some by "In Your Face" Cosmetics and also "Jane" brand which is available in most stores. "Wet N Wild" also has some great finely ground powders and so does NYLA called "NYLA Body Glo"
Revlon and Max Factor also have powders like these, every season something different.
Also some bronzing creams work well for what you want to achieve and they are not all sunless tanners.
Hope that helps!

just be careful ....there was a woman in VA who didnt even look like a real human being she had so much of that crap on...she looked like she had been spray painted a dark metallic glittery bronze...she looked more like some sort of android...it was gross

Well thanks a bunch..your reply is greatly appreciated and i will look for those products.
But some of the competitors look sooo incredibly oily. What's the deal with that? :)

A girl in the under 21 am latin event in Manhattan a few weeks ago had so much oil on her legs, it looked like rotisserie chicken or something. It was really disgusting - she was glistening! Whoever let her out of the fryer should have hosed her down first! Don't use body oil. Just use some sparkly bronzer or something...

LMAO  indeed
I like being a little shiny..but you have to draw the line somewhere.

*lol* *snort* a rotisserie chicken? *hrppphh*

fyi...for folks who dont use tanning beds but would like a soft bronzer with shimmmer(ie tiny bit of bronze glitter)...there is a tanning lotion... from swedish beauty I think... called hot amaretto which, in addition to being a tanning lotion(not oil), has a slight bronzer and a bit of glitter in it....just right for someone who already has a bit of a tan...IMO

I think we've just found the C3-P0 of the ballroom world. Now we're just missing R2-D2 and Luke Skywalker.

Sooooo... body oil out of the question? Not even a teensy bit?

I can see body oil being slippery and, in some cases, dangerous. I'd think that a lotion, powder or cream would work better.

Actually, if you're looking for a bit of a subdued shimmer, Oil of Olay's Quench body lotion has shimmer in it. It isn't a lot by any stretch of the imagination, but sometimes you just need to be understated.
