Boston Suggestions?

Someday

Visiting Boston on Sept 12-14. A couple who enjoys classic tango is looking for suggestions. We are familiar with tango have to dance

and this looks appealing
Sept 13-Tango by Moonlight, at the Weeks Footbridge, 945 Memorial Drive (at the corner of DeWolfe & Memorial

but I thought I would ask since our time is limited.

FWIW, these are my recommendations for those days.

Thursday night - MIT Practica (it moves around sometimes, so check the website on that day for the building & room number)
Friday night - Tanguera at NETA
Saturday night - Blue Milonga at eXtreme DanceSport

It's too bad you won't be there a couple weeks later, as there will be a tango marathon in Boston from the 27th to the 29th.

Hi,
Thanks dchester. Thursday at MIT was impressive with more than 60 dancers. All were very good and some exceptional. I liked the rules posted on the board emphasing learning, asking for feedback and encouraging dancing with different partners. The music was well chosenl. Good parkng across the street at $5 which is unheard of in Boston. It was a surprise to go in at 8 with clear skies and come out at 10:30 in a torrential downpour. Thanks!

Tango Marathon. Sounds interesting. There's a lot of competition for attention in NYC that weekend*, but if I pass up our attractions & head to Boston - what is the typical (or average) dress code for guys in Boston? Is cabeceo preferred by most (or many) followers?

*Gabriel Misse & Analia Centurion, Miriam Larici & Leonardo Barrionuevo, & Chicho Frumboli & Juana Sepulveda dancing & then the real competition - a free concert in Central Park with Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, John Mayer & others.

For the locals, there mostly isn't a real dress code. Some guys will be in a "business casual" attire (pretty common in the evening), but some will be in either jeans or cargo pants. One or two might be in shorts, and a couple might be in a jacket and tie. However, I have no clue how the visitors will be dressed.

The cabeceo is used by many (probably most), but not all.

I hope you are able to make it.

Back to Boston! My son is getting married Christmas Eve to a wonderful young lady so I'll be in Boston for a week starting around the 18th of Dec. Last time we were there, we visited the MIT practica which was impressive so we'll probably go back. Any other Tango activities recommended? I'm using
tango dot havetodance dot com as my resource.

You are using the best resource: http://tango.havetodance.com/calendar.html

Christmas time is unpredictable as to the turnout for the various events. I'm not sure yet if I'll be dancing in Boston that weekend or not.
