What are your plans for bringing in the new year?

Me? I'll start off by saying that it begins tonight with going to a latin dance...

Going to milwaukee for a dance event/ new years thing. They have a super fancy newyears eve thing on sunday night, so that should be fun!

Travel safely, Amy!

LW and I are going out on NYE for the first time this year! Woo hoo! Now that we know how to dance, we're looking forward to an NYE dance that a local studio is putting on. We got LW a fancy new dress and I'll probably drag out my tux.

Well, on Valentines Day I was one of the folks who helped set the DF record for number of people online at one time. Maybe that's what I'll do for New Years.

Hey, lets start a DF campaign to see how many people can all be on DF at Midnight on New Years! Yeah! Woohoo!

Going to a very large party. The hosts invite 25 couples *and* their kids. This couple gets the Profile in Courage award...I can't imagine what they wake up to!

Since I'm sick, I'll join you! ;)

Crashing tonight. Tomorrow cooking homemade chicken soup (my first time ever!) for a friend that's currently in India getting surgery. (I guess that's getting more common now... people without insurance, like my friend, are now going to India for scheduled surgeries. Apparently you can get first class surgery there at a fraction of what you'd pay in the US, and even when you factor in the airfare etc., you still come out ahead! Just shows how whack our HC system is...) Then Sunday night I'm going to a house party. A friend in Manhattan has a great loft apartment, so there'll be a few dozen people, and latin (mainly salsa!) music. :--)

Already in Atlanta/Athens area for a wedding I'm going to tomorrow. The bride, coincidentally, is the girl that first got me into ballroom. Yay for weddings with real dancing!

Most of my family's going, so the day after the wedding we're all going to my cousin's house for New Year's and my friend from TN is coming in to spend it with me too! *sigh* I really like this one, I think I'll keep him around. ;-)

No, not new boyfriend. We're just friends for now. He just got out of a long-term relationship where he wanted to marry the girl (she obviously didn't feel the same way), so he's still dealing with that, and I've had a hard time with men myself and need to test the waters first, so to speak. So we're taking it slow and one step at a time.

But he's coming all the way to Atlanta to see me for New Year's (and he'll have to deal with my whole extended family LOL, that's no small task), so that's hopeful!

NYE Extravaganza at Waterside in Norfolk...should be fun. I have to perform, of course...blegh. However, watching the other shows is fun, and there are lots of seminars and group classes. Yay for late-night dances!

My ex-dance partner asked me out for dinner, so I've got that for New Year's Eve. Other than that, I'm painting my new loft :)
