Ha, very interesting standard results... Seems a lot of people skipped the BYU Nationals this year.

Good for Andrea and Erica! I suppose with all the breakups (and given these latest results) they have a real shot at the title this August...

Must be pretty disappointing results for Andrei and Yulia though

Yes 2 of the finalists were missing which opened up one space in the finals. I thought Julya and Andy should have placed higher from what I watched.
This was the best I saw Erika dance ever..

Seems a lot of people skipped the BYU Nationals this year.

A lot of the top standard couples were at Giampiero's retirement party. My quick estimate is that there were half a dozen amateur quarter-finalist-plus couples there, plus many pros, too. It was a fabulous party. My favorite performance was Vladimir and Dasha's tango/foxtrot/VW/paso, the one with which they won the Northeast Open. It was great to see some of the top Canadians performing, too, since I don't see them nearly as much.

Nice! It's great to have a large field, and it happens too rarely.

How large was the smooth event?

I think smooth was fairly big too.. don't remember if it was a quarter or first round.

Smooth had a first round also, I think there were about 30 couples (danced the first round in 3 heats (THANK YOU to whoever made that happen)), the quarter had 25 couples, the rest were the usual numbers.

It was good to have such a big comp - it's not often that one gets to dance 4 rounds...

I saw the smooth semi and final. You looked wonderful! I also really enjoyed watching the couple from MN.
