Yes. We were usually five:
- organizer
- host
- door person
- DJ
- barman
On busy nights, we were more numerous . . . add the organizer's assistant and a second bartender. On New Year's Eve, I needed a staff behind the bar to pour 200-odd glasses of bubbly in 10 minutes.
Powder on the floor is just generally scary. Fortunately, most events here ban it completely, in all of its forms. A guy I know (someone who decided to call himself a "teacher" after four or five years of dance lessons) actually got blacklisted at one event, at least, for ignoring a powder ban.
To quote my teacher, "Powdering the floor is a sign of disrespect. Learning to dance on bad floors is part of learning to dance."
