career/training in dance

Does anyone know how I can get training in latin (international style) dance and work in this field at the same time? I take lessons now but have a full time job and can't commit 100%. Are there any programs like this; where I could train and work in this discipline and apply my training (perhaps being part of an entertainment/dance group). Right now I'm a gold dancer.

Also, do professional dancers make money dancing.

Check the other linked thread ...

Also, talk with local studios, I know several people who work(ed) for studios, and that trained them to dance as well as teach.

Many studios do have a staff of teachers as opposed to free-lancing, and I believe the chain studios have new-teacher programs.

In my understanding, professional dancers make money by teaching, competing pro-am, competing professionally, doing shows, etc. With the balance and amounts differing on a per-person basis.

I am an amateur who does NOT teach, and has not fully investigated this as a career choice, so verify with your own research!
