Carmen?

My apologies for another post - but it didn't seem connected to the other one.
Who is this Carmen that started at age 17 and is now Regional Prof. World latin champion?
Someone mentioned her name in the competing and hello thread and my internet searches have come up with nothing on her.
She'd be a brilliant case study to add in to my dissertation so if anyone could just point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated!

Many thankseither way.

Take care.

Leave off the "Regional" part in the title, otherwise there is no such thing :) . She's a multi-time World Professional Latin Champion.

Carmen in one of the few ladies who truly doesn't need a last name ^_^
Bryan and Carmen are in a completely different league - Haley you should watch the world latin super star festival video from japan. they are quite expensive but that will give you a much greater idea of character than reading bits online.
dancebeatinternational also has an interview with them

True, Redtango, true. But just try googling Carmen. Eeek! In the absence of any other information (such as a last name or partner name,) and you'll be well into your eighties before you figure out which pages are ballroom-related hits and which ones are opera-related or something else. :headwall:

I googled for Professional World Latin Champion Carmen (as mentioned in Hayley's original thread) first. That gave me her partner's name. So I then googled for "Bryan Watson" Carmen. That gave me her surname, as well as the links I gave.

I'm not called the Oracle of St. Google for nothing

Yes. I know. Just for fun, I googled "carmen ballroom dance," and got the second hit was valid. Not everyone is a natural googler, though. It takes a while to figure out how to massage the google terms. If you just do "Carmen," you get Carmen Electra for a couple (dozen) pages.

Funny what everyone thinks when they hear one word...when I first saw the title of this thread, I was thinking "Carmen" the opera.

You're all such stars! I can't believe how helpful you've all been! (seriously! I'm not being pedantic - I really didn't expect any replys full stop!)
The links were a big help thank-you.

I wonder what it is about her that made her teachers decide so early in her training (and so late in her age) to encourage her to go pro.

Well thank-you all so much for all of your help - hopefully the assignment can now be completed (<breathes huge sigh of reief).

Lots of love
Hayley
