I have some exciting news that has nothing to do with OSB, but happened while we were here: my 6-year-old daughter lost her first tooth! She is ecstatic. She and my Mom are making cupcakes in honor of this very special occasion.
Spent most of the day today watching amateur latin in Exhibition Hall C. CCP took tons of photos. (Thank goodness he has a big flash, as it is fairly dark in there.) The two most exciting and most contested events were the Latin J6 and the Amateur Under 21.
J6
1--Nikita Malakhov and Sarah Gleyzer 1/1/1/4/3
2--Jason Dai and Patrycja Golak 3/2/3/1/2
3--Sergey Golubtson and Alina Iougai 2/4/2/3/1
4--Stan Faynerman and Daniella Karagach
5--Kiki Nyemchek and Nesya Sereboro
6--Gregory Grzymek and Magda Fialek
Have to mention that Sergey Golubtson was wearing a blue-green suit with a black tank underneath, a very different look than anyone else on the floor. Couldn't decide if I liked it or not, but it definitely stood out!
Under 21
1--Alon Gilin and Anastasia Trutneva
2--Vlad Kurchevsky and Sandra Rucinski
3--Couple 876
4--Jason Dai and Patrycja Golak
5--Nikita Malakhov and Sarah Gleyzer
6--Stan Faynerman and Daniella Karagach
At the very end of the afternoon, caught a bit of the first round of the World Pro-Am events, including syncopationator in the A event, mamboqueen in the B event, and Nik competing with a student in the C event.
CCP and I are both somewhat congested. He doesn't feel good. I feel fine, but my ear never fully popped after our plane flight last night. Bummer.
Hope to pop in at the DF get together, then off to the Friday night session. Wish, wish, wish that we had ringside seats, so CCP could photograph--we're back too far for the flash--but happy just to be going!
I was very excited to see Erminio Stefano and Luana Conte are dancing tonight!!! Also really looking forward to seeing Eugene and Maria, and of course Nik and Natasha!
