Celebrity, controversy, and payoff

Ouch... this is why you have media managers when you become famous like this. It just isn't worth the potential backlash.
 
Was he really being an "a-hole?" I cannot conclude that. Insensitive? Certainly! Jumping to conclusions? Absolutely. But I got no sense of deliberate malice. Still... When you put your beliefs in writing, you had better be prepared for consequences if they step on others' toes. And being a famous "offender" makes you a target for money hungry jackals. Six million?! Oh please! That's just ridiculous. Make him do community service or take sensitivity classes. But don't make him out to be a payday just because he posted something that was construed to be ill mannered.

Sixty thousand and a hand written apology would be enough.
