Chacha choreography coming up this Friday!!

I'm excited as hell about this! My instructor suggested we do a choreography; not an official one, just a quickie for educational purposes but still a choreography!
She said "what do you wnat to do?"
I said, without even thinking about it, "Chacha".
She said "Sure thing kid. What song?"
I said "I like it like that - Blackout Allstars", which is just amazing in my humble opinion.
So that's that. I'm doing the chacha, I'm wearing a red dress which has a great ruffling effect when spinned, it's got bright colours dancing about in the reds - all in all, it's beautiful. It's teh same dress I wore at the interschool comp thing back in June, so it's tried and I know it works like a charm. :D Hair is going up in a bun like last time, but I'm a bit sceptical about the flower I put last time: it was great, but I don't want to copy the style detail by detail. Perhaps I'll go for a different flower colour. (we're talking about those rubber bands which have a fake flower, you know?)
About the choreography, we still haven't started it. Yeah, I know, it's only 6 days away, but my teacher says it will only take us 1-2 hours to make it. Knowing her, of course, and how she does nothing the conventional way, I'm gong to be doing Siver syllabus before I say "wha...?" (I haven't finished my Bronze yet, I'm around the 6th step out of the 10 bronze syllabus steps) Yet that's why I absolutely adore my teacher.
I've babbled enough. Let's hear some comments.

Yay Elena! Sounds like fun. :) You'll definitely have to let us know how it goes. I'm sure you'll be more than okay to get it together with the amount of time you have.

In about an hour I'll know what my choreography is (I have private lesson in an hour). So when I get back I'll let you know how it looks and if I have any questions I'll post right away. :D

Neither, SIBruno. I'm not nearly that good to be competing or performing.
So. Just had the first lesson a few mins ago. (the one I said about before got cancelled) We didn't do the whole thing, we haven't seen the finish yet, but the general idea is:
First of all, that it's just what I said before: a quickie. It's not an official choreography, it's almost like dancing socially. The steps are really nothing too fancy (afer all, I'm a mere beginner): some freestyle steps in the beginning, a crossover, cuban breaks, a turn-about, a two-way turn... it's pretty basic. Gotta work on it, of course.
Oh, and clothes update. Not wearing the red dress. Instead, teacher is lending me clothes of her own: black skirt and fancy top, she says. Haven't seen them yet. *nailbite*

wow, TE, congratulations! that sounds fun! let us know how it goes!

my teacher had just suggested to me that i should start off a routine.....i have yet to pick a dance....

So! First of all, let me tell you that the choreography was beauuutiful in the end. My teacher is brilliant. I adore her. :D
Secondly: the whole thing went pretty good. There were 4 choreographies to be presented (2 tangos, one rumba and our chacha) and everybody said ours was the best. Which was, in my opinion, to be expected. The choreography was veeery nice. Also heard very nice comments about my own dancing, which was a surprise.
Bad point: I forgot a beautiful part of the choreography: a progressive lockstep with some old syllabus Silver in it. I adored that part, I had rehearsed it more than any other step (that is, in those 2-3 hours it took us to prepare the choreography!) but when my teacher open-breaked me, I forgot how to enter the Silver step and did a plain old progressive lockstep. Later on that night, I was told by most that they didn't realise I forgot anything, and a teacher told me that if I hadn't screwed up my face for one second, nobody would have understood a thing.
Then again, with just 3 hours of preparation we did a pretty good job. Teacher says I'm silly to worry about such a thing since I covered it up and that I was pretty good.
Another thing: a gal in the ol' ballroom "gang" videotaped the whole thing and she's going to give it to me, so we might get a video of the whole deal! :D I'll try real hard to upload it for you to see!
