Closed Gold Rhythm

Can anyone share what is not allowed in Closed Gold Rhythm? I am transitioning from closed silver to open and it would be nice to dance new routines, as I learn them, in closed gold divisions in addition to open. What are the restrictions for closed gold?

Because I was curious, I looked it up. (I like to research.)

It seems that due to the varying syllabi (NDCA, ISTD, DVIDA, Fred Astaire, Arthur Murray), you're not super-restricted on steps. Summary of what I've read in various sources for closed gold: Make it something that looks like the dance in question (syllabus or popular variations), restrict apart work, include a fair bit in closed hold, no lifts.

The ISTD syllabus is here: https://usistd.org/syllabi-technique/american-style/
USA dance has a clear explanation, by dance: http://www.usadance.org/_DOCS/Governance/Rules, Policies & Bylaws/2016A Syllabus Guidebook-Rules 2016A Real-Final3.pdf
NDCA is less clear, but explains restrictions in an appendix: https://ndca.org/pdf/2018%20July%20-%205%20-%20NDCA%20APPROVED%20FIGURES%20ELEMENTS%20and%20RESTRICTIONS%20July%202018.pdf

I’ve done some closed gold. Essentially we’ve been told that they re your open routines but you have to start in closed facing each other position. That’s what we were told from Dennis Rogers. So we have one routine and start it at different points to be closed gold.

And I know they’re trying to make gcloawd gold a thing in American... but I do closed gold in both Latin and rhythm and it’s the same in both- silver students doing their silver routines in closed gold or open students who have a slight variation . Closed gold Latin had an actual syllabus but I’ve seen Latin be the least invigulated at every comp I’ve done
