Nice to have a birth announcement on DF for a change. Warren and Elizabeth became the proud parents of a baby girl this past week. I'll leave it to him to fill in the details. But, enquiring minds will want to know, will she go standard or latin??

Big congrats to you both!

Thanks! Obligatory baby pictures for those that want to see them (but don't feel obligated if you think all babies look the same):

Don't know yet ... all we know so far is that she thinks a fuzzy dance video of the Hiltons is about equally interesting as watching those things with wheels go zipping by on the street.

We do know she likes Mozart, is okay with Scarlatti and Chopin, and doesn't care for Liszt ... if her tastes in dance are contemporaneous with her tastes in music, viennese waltz may be the only dance she does!

Well, I see a LOT of babies at my job, so I'll say in my expert professional opinion, SHE'S ADORABLE!!!

Congratulations to both of you, may she bring you lots of love and happiness, enjoy her they grow up sooooooo fassst!

sounds like she likes classic music a lot;)

To be honest, that's what I'd played for her so far. She does seem to dislike dissonance, given the specific points in the music where she complained. That turned out to be true in Bach and late period Beethoven as well as Liszt. I think she likes Mozart because it's dissonance free.

I played some Andrew Lloyd Webber for her tonight, and she seemed to like that. She was practically dancing - well, waving her arms and legs around - for "Everything's Alright". It's not standard or latin, though ... it's in five.
