Contemporary WCS music

It has been a while since I visited Dance Forums. So I am a bit behind on this thread.

I think westies basically love music with predictable breaks. Much of the creativity of the dance revolves around those breaks.

The music that I critic has no predictable breaks. It has no breaks at all. It is more akin to easy listening music.

I agree creativity of dance revolves around interesting musical rhythms of which the breaks are a part. If the rhythm is playing in a loop from start to end without breaks it is monotonous.

There is certain music where dancing the traditional WCS step rhythms doesn’t match well. I witness some good dancers doing WCS steps that don’t match to the music. As a parallel example someone could dance salsa steps to a pop song. They may be dancing classical salsa but in no way would be expressing the pop song.
