As Mario says, I reckon elevator music is fine. I'd also suggest that it be very clearly non-AT in any way. What's the best way to create cortina music?
In London I'd guess cortinas are around 30-40 seconds. How long should they be?

Yes I use Audacity.
I find I can only edit recordings that are mp3 format (not .aac). And the output has to be saved as .wav then converted by your music player.
Has anyone found useful instructions for Audacity? ie ones which will get you up and going quickly?
My favorite cortina is played on Sunday at Lo de Celia Tango Club in BsAs. Daniel Borelli (best DJ we have) uses Crusin' for Brusin' by Basia. It's has a cha-cha rhythm with English lyrics. I sing along.
