Virtually no masks on anyone else on the flight to or from USDC, or in the ballroom at USDC. Possibly as a result, caught something that started mild early last week, but had the symptoms of a bad flu by Friday, which I spent in bed - severe headache, fever and chills, muscle aches especially next to bones. Tested for covid twice, both negative.
So I didn't isolate, though I did continue to wear my mask, since I figured whatever it was, people wouldn't want to get it.
Daughter came down with the same severe symptoms on Monday. Going back to school the next day, the nurse tested her for covid. Positive. I tested again, despite by that time starting to recover. Also positive. Ironically, by that time I was past the CDC recommended isolation period - it was more than 5 days past my initial symptoms, and I was recovering - but I'm still sequestering myself as much as possible, and daughter is isolating.
Probably not coincidentally, she and I were the only ones in the family who had not previously tested positive at any point. Now everyone in the family has had a confirmed case at some point.
The symptoms for me were very much like an illness I got at the very beginning of the covid outbreak - this was before tests had been developed - so I wonder if that was covid too.
