Like any other sport/activity, have to stay sufficiently hydrated and maintain body salts.

I had to go look up "charley horse". Here's what I found on Wikipedia:

These muscle cramps can have many possible causes directly resulting from high or low pH or substrate concentrations in the blood, including hormonal imbalances, low levels of potassium or calcium, side effects of medication,

So yeah, he probably needs more salt on his fries. LOL!

And I agree with ViviDancer. It's great to see a supportive audience and a supportive partner.
If you look closely though, something happened at 0:13. To his legs, that is.

does anyone know if these comps have medics on standby and also, when I was a kid all I was told was to try to "stretch" against the cramping until it loosens its grip

I used to have cramps while swimming. I would just get out of the pool and let it pass. I wouldn't get in again.

My calf would be sore for a couple of hours, and it would feel sorer putting my heel on the ground. But then it got good.
