cut ins

Dont know what prompted me to think of this, but--- many moons ago, in the b/room genre in the u.k ., they would announce at public dances, that it was an " exscuse me "-- meaning, you were free to tap someone dancing, on the shldr, and they would graciously give the partner to you ( man or lady asking ) .
Wouldnt that be nice if it would work in todays market place .?

Heheh. I think (a) we brits would all be too shy and (b) there would be no men left over to do the cutting in.

Steve -- we were the ones that introduced it !-- as far as the man thing goes-- have seen numerous occasions( in the states ) where guys far out numbered the " dancers "

And to the how so-- have you never been in a club where it was nigh impossible to get to a certain lady, for differing reasons ?

Lol, the problem being that when I finally get to dance with one of the very popular ladies, that I get cut in on again.

My answer is "No".

I don't see it working well at the socials I go to. A lot of people would be too considerate to interrupt two people who had chosen to dance together. And there are some others who would be too aggressive about it (the ones who already run on to the floor to grab the instructors before they can get to the seats to ask someone to dance). I would find it annoying if I had to change partners several times during a dance and disheartening if no one ever cut in to dance with me. I don't see the upside.

My studio does mixers, either with people lining up at one end of the floor or by stopping the music mid-dance and telling everyone to change partners. I enjoy them (usually).

Men are like jugglers. We are smart.
Women are like the jugglers balls. Fungible.

When one man wants to touch and play with another mans ball, he just has to ask. ;)

Sounds like swinging. Must work for swing dancing
