I should probably wait until Monday morning to post this, but what the heck. Here's a question for all you DFers out there who don't do dance for a living.

Do you think your dance "habit" has affected your work productivity? How? For the better?

Do things like late night dancing, vacation/holidays at dance events, or even DF posting impact your work? Do you get more done, or less? (Be honest. DF is mostly anonymous.)

Dancing has made me an even happier person, so that way it has helped my producitvity. I can get more done now then I used to before.

So logging in thirty times a day to exchange witty repartee with other dancers makes one more productive?

Totally!! I take a quick break and am excited to tackle work again...otherwise I would spend the whole day wondering what is going on in df! :)

This is a bit of an "ouch!" subject for me...

Hi Pygmalion- with the time diference it IS Monday morning over here! :D

As I take my work very seriously, I always consider it a priority over dancing, which is just a hobby of mine. I can easily say that dancing has made me happy and sometimes I bring that feeling into the workplace, which is good because it is positive.

I can relate, cocodrilo. Despite appearances to the contrary, I'm a near-workaholic. Dance definitely isn't the whole picture for me.

That said, DF can be most tempting for me when the project I have going on at work is distasteful for me. Then, it can become a distraction. Otherwise, dance fits around my work life.

I posted (I think) late on Sunday night, your time. Wait! It might have been in the wee hours of Monday morning. I'll have to look up the time difference.

Dancing has definitely taken over my working life! If I'm not flat out busy, I'm at least dialled in and checking DF when I have a free 15 seconds or so. Also planning on changing my desktop picture on my computer to something dance related.

Will not be bringing in any of my ribbons or trophies though, that would definitely be going too far!

Don't know about productivity though. Haven't been really busy at work for a while so that remains to be seen. I am happier and more secure in myself so nowhere near as negative and frustrated. I would like to think that it has made me healthier in that respect. And in turn, I suppose more productive because I can get things done quicker to spend more time on DF!

I know that there's a 16-hour time difference between here & the west coast.

That means a 13-hour difference for me, so I posted at about 9:30 PM Sunday for you. 8) I'm only partially clueless, thank goodness!

Dancing is very important to me, and so is my work... but they do affect each other... for instance, there are times when I'm at work and all I think about is dancing and times when I should be dancing but I'm thinking about my work...
I usually like to have all things done in due time and then I can focus on dancing... but it's not always easy!

Wow, work must mean a lot to you. I can honestly say this has never happened to me

I admit it, I'm bad. I check DF all day long when I'm supposed to be working! Then there's the time off I take for comps, and coming into work grumpy and sleepy after late-night practices. :)
