Dance Badly, Get Sued

A while ago (like, a year ago) wasn't there someone posting here on D-F who was all hot and bothered about the Electric Slide and it's origins and not getting credit or something....

I swear to god I'm not making that up. And I've had some DMD already this morning, so I'm not completely out of it.

Wow...some people must have fabulous lives that the most important thing for them to get upset over is the Electric Slide. I wish my life was going that smashingly...

You are not making it up, unless we are having a shared hallucination (or whatever the appropriate equivalent is).

:eyebrow:

DH is a secondary market wholesaler.

When drugs go on shortage (often b/c the manufacturer refuses to fill its contracts), there is money to be made from being in the right place at the right time.

DH stayed away from it for ethical reasons, but a couple of years ago there was a flu vax shortage--we knew people who were making $50k a day from the shortage. A few years ago, the mad cow problem caused a huge shortage in some drug i can't remember the name of right now--dexamethazone, perhaps--b/c it was manufactured using cow stuff somehow. Well, those people who saw the writing on the wall, and were able to stock-pile the stuff, and afford the financing until the price jumped when there was practically none left on the market, and could afford the financing to be able to sell it to end users who pay more but with longer terms made tons of dough.

DH and I joke that our first house was the one that dexamathazone bought--his commissions on that drug alone paid for our down payment.

I can only say one thing. It starts with "L" and ends in "oser."

Couldn't agree more!!! Some people need to get a life!!

More so, it is this Owl's not to be understated opinion that it should be a FELONY to file frivolous lawsuits (falling under the umbrellas of extortion and fraud) and both the person that filed it AND THEIR LAWYER should be sent to prison for a MINIMUM of 10 years! :bkick:

agree...but I had to send it to dh just the same...AMAZING the things that land on his desk....I could start a thread but I won't...he, of course would never take such a frivolous case

am going to get inside dh's head on the legal defense for such a bizarre claim ...can't wait to hear it...I mean, I don't see how this is any differnet from a coach copyrighting their way of explaining a concept or me copyrighting one of my aeorbics routines... just not enforcable IMO...and besides ...its such a burnt out old fossil...what possible money does he think he stands to gain...I mean who on earth is profiting from playing it?....I mean, do you think a jr. high school is going to pay a fee for playing it?...goodness sakes

oh good lord... next thing ya know the creator of the hokey pokey will be coming out of the woodwork....lol...so this is really an "anti-creative license" sort of thing...lol...whatever happened to artistic expression...outrage
