Have not read the articles yet, but I'm impressed that they already have the Emerald Ball coverage in there. Lots of pictures of pros that many of you all work with here, too. Larinda's in there....in a costume we're not quite used to seeing her in either (va-voom!). I think a lot of you will probably be pleased to see that it's not overwhelmingly loaded with pro/am coverage, too.

Comments....?

I didn't bring it with me to work, but I will tomorrow. My home scanner is unplugged...lest we get electrocuted :(

We did well compared to many of our friends, only a few inches which we vacuumed up as it was coming in. Lost one area of rug, but .... we have friends who got 3'. My husband helped one pump out his basement and when they got the water out, it started filling back up. They're actually probably happier than the other people we know who have sewage coming in.

More water than I care to see....if it could only rain martinis or something.....

i think responding at all was a mistake.... dignifies the original commentary, which is a dubious thing to do.

Yay! Got it!

Five pictures by my husband in this issue...which was surprising, though not the first time. Not a big fan of requesting permission, the "Dance Beat" people. (The answer would have been YES; it just would be nice to be asked.)

Nice abs, Larinda! ;)

There are certainly some interesting opinions in this issue. I like the ones that are backed up with reasons the best, rather than just "I didn't see it this way."

There is an impressive amount of Emerald Ball coverage, given that that just happened. Also very good coverage of the San Francisco Open and the Southern States, and some of Wisconsin State, Tri-State, World Pro South American Showdance Championships.

I wish that Northeast Regionals had gotten coverage. I think sometimes "Dance Beat" covers it, and sometimes not. This year, I don't think they did....

I read the coverage of the Philly Festival first, as I was actually at that comp. I liked Didio Barrera's write-up of the professional standard and why he felt Linas/Ieva won over Garry/Rita. His write-up of the pro latin was also interesting. He disagreed with the result of the am standard and briefly explained why he thinks Ronen/Kristina should have won. He also disagreed with the results of am latin, but he's wrong there! ;)

Cha-Cha Mama

i liked eddie simon's commentary on the south american showdance worlds, where he says of winners yulia and max:

"last year's champions, Max and Yulia brought the house down! Once Yulia, stunning in a shimmering gold fringe pantusit, started her back samba actions to the pulsating rhythm, the crowd erupted with delight.... It seemed as though the presentation was an homage to the joy of dance, showing what it means to use great technique to deliver the emotion of the dance. "

it must've been great to be in the audience at that moment :)
