dance reality show

A friend came up with this idea a couple months ago when she just couldn't find a partner. She was dancing quite successfully in pro/am Latin divison.

We should have a Dance Partner Search Reality Show.
You know, just like The Bachelor on ABC.

I am sure this will make a good TV hit, with all the drama involved in the dance world. Afterall, people like to watch that kind of things.
Now, how can me get ABC to make a show like this?
Maybe Kitty or myself can be the first participant!

maybe they should do it like speed dating. get everybody in a room, have them spend five minutes with each potential partner, everybody writes down their matches, and the computer hooks everybody up for a tryout.

or they can get a guy or a girl, and then like 20 potential partners, then have them spend time together dancing and non-dancing, and then one person gets eliminated each week, and eventually we will have a partner :D

How do you do the group date thing, though?

This has the potential for way more Drama than the Bachelor.... But wait.... If there is a such show, do you think Trista would show up????

i'd quickly apply for copyright on this idea!! it's great!.

Actually, you can't copyright an idea. That is why there are so many copycat tv shows that pop up a few months after something really successful hits.

Or me! I'd do it.

My "new" partner (since January) just ditched me a few weeks ago. He said we weren't making enough progress. I say, "How can you tell? We've only been dancing together since January?" I've heard through the rumor mill at our studio that another one of the female instructors (much more advanced/experienced than me) wants him to be her partner. If that's the case, I wish they'd just TELL me, instead of him ditching me now and them *just happening* to get together in a few weeks . . . I don't blame him . . .

Anyway . . . didn't mean to vent.

With all of the girl interest in this, though, we'd have to have it be a guy dancer searching for a good partner -- way more girls looking than guys, I think.

Sorry to hear about the "ditching" sunderi. I'm a guy interested, but don't know too much ballroom.

Where I come from, that's called a social... with the online partner search filling the role of announcing who is looking and making contact in the rare case you didn't already know how to reach someone.

The thing is speed dating is walk in... finding partners narrows you down to the narrow group of people with similar investment in the activity, so mass matchups tend to only happen in situations where there are whole classes being trained together - situations like the college teams, for example.
