Dance to Your Maximum: online reading group?

I heard so much about this book. Now I'll try to order it, but I'm afraid, it's too hard to get it in Russia...

Bump again.

Any thoughts from someone who's read the whole book? Also, anyone interested in selling their copy?

I have the book and have read through it. All i can say that it is more of a workbook rather than a text for reading.

The only really point of the book is if you are part of a serious competitive partnership, and want to learn how to build up a successful competitive career step by step. It talks about scheduling, coaching, practicing, costuming, fitness, choreography, competiting etc.

Its full of many quizzes and checklists. I do not suggest to buy it just to read. Its meant to guide you along the way - so you need not read the whole thing in one sitting.

fasc, you may just be able to do that ;-) elise, I know it's available but before ordering it for $90USD I thought I'd check to see if anyone was selling it for less. I think I'll order it soon. I just bought "The Mental Edge" tonight by Baum and am looking forward to reading it.

actually...dh had a ton of trouble trying to order the doggone thing and couldn't find it in the US so, when he gets home from Boston, I am going to put him right on this

Now I've read it. It's a very good book. Each dancer really need it. The only thing a want -to have it 10 year earlear... May be I could be more succesfully and hadn't many problems.
Everybody!!!! Read it!

I just ordered this book. $100 after shipping, cheapest I could find, but $100 would be a miniscule price to pay if it is even marginally effective--heck, that only buys 30 mins of time from some coaches ;-) ... It looks intriguing and will let all know about it in a few weeks/months after I examine it!

Well, it is pricey, but that would be a tax deduction for you, right?? And heck, you can always sell it when you're done. I think it's one of those things that will have a good resale value.

I find the book intriguing in various ways...something I think one is well served to periodically go back to for various reminders...and as I have said elsewhere it has been a good tool for reflection for me

Tax deduction, that's a big YES ;-) True, and I have students who will love to look at it as well I think.
