Dance to Your Maximum: online reading group?

I also highly recommend a coaching session or two with the author when he's in the U.S. Just keep in mind that he's more of a sports psychologist than a dance teacher.
I 2nd DrDoug's recommendation

Once, I even went to 2 of his lectures in the same weekend when he was in the area . . . and I otherwise have the attention span of a gnat.

lol...I'll outbid him;)
And I'll outbid you;)
Anyone interested in selling their used copy. Wish the library carried a copy!!! I found a place that sells it in the states but they charge $85 just for the bok. Not including tax and shipping. That's almost one coaching. Lol

fasc, you may just be able to do that ;-) elise, I know it's available but before ordering it for $90USD I thought I'd check to see if anyone was selling it for less. I think I'll order it soon. I just bought "The Mental Edge" tonight by Baum and am looking forward to reading it.
When your done with it contact me;)
Maybe we can negotiate a price....Lol

P.S. Just read that the book will be sold at Blackpool so anyone attending looking to get their hands on a copy and get it their. Wish I were going :-(

For those in the UK
Dance to Your Maximum: wrdmusic.com/details.asp?PID=515
£32.95

They also state they will post worldwide at cost which I think would be about $66 plus post.

Don't know the company though so you'd have to judge for yourselves. Sadly it's way more than I could use although I bet there is some interesting reading there.

Nobody is ever "done" with it. :) if you like it you keep it - which is why they almost never show up on used book sites.

My pro's partner did a seminar course on the book one summer for a bunch of their students. Very worth while.

So true....Sigh...... Oh well. I always liked the smell of a new book :-) I should've had my pro buy me one at Blackpool. Darn! I heard they were giving a special price at the comp for pros

well...I am digesting it slowly...but I will say that thusfar the two pieces of info that I have found most helpful...maybe 3...are:

the quiz on what one's stressors are and the degree to which they exist...I think knowing this and knowing it about one's partner can be illuminating and helpful...even surprising ..

I also appreciated the writing on taking the time to present oneself to the audience afterward to recieve their applause and to prepare for the next dance to be an important affirmation of something which I had never had articulated that well before...

and I also found the wide array of suggested focus words to be something that widened my understanding of the possibilities of how to dance various styles....certainly I haven't given the entire book it's fair due, but thusfar, that is what I have most appreciated

Anyone know of a place in the US that sells it for under $106? That's the cheapest I could find (on dancescape).
Does it have the be the US? That link I posted earlier was about $66 I think plus postage at cost. You could enquire what that would be if you're not in a desperate hurry.

I often order stuff from the US to be delievered to the UK because it's cheaper many a time. I usually get it within the week.

ps Apologies to the mods for posting the link incorrectly.

Just prefer it be US because I have ordered a lot of dancesport related stuff over sees (UK) and it comes in like 3-5 months later and I always get this sorry excuse from the vendor. So I'm a little skeptical of ordering dance stuff over seas. But if its a bit cheaper I may just have to suck it up if I want to save money :-)

I'm sure some-one else mentioned using them. Can't remember who but perhaps they'll post.
