Dancing for the ocean

I was reading about the "Dancing for the Oceans" production which is aimed at educating audiences about ocean science and conservation issues. "Dancers climb upon and wrap around each other to portray the complexity of food webs, or slowly roll across the floor to render the slow death of a species as it goes extinct".

As a researcher, I am interested in peoples' concerns and experiences in relation to the ocean.

Any information, opinions or suggestions appreciated. I might even write a paper on it!

Only interest is too little for a paper, OceanAwareness. You should provide some information on your research, on your career, on your intention, on your experiences with expressive dance, on your experiences with dancers, on your own dancing abilities.

Some information on my research would include creating threads and conversations in online forums with a view to creating awareness about the ocean. Thanks for the comment. Anyone got any thoughts about the ocean that they would like to share?

My view about ocean and and ocean conservation changed over the years. Fifty years ago I was shocked and desperate about plastic waste on the shore lines and in the stomachs of birds. I was an activist in several environmental organizations and spent much time on and near the water. Now I look at it differently.

So I was surprised that John Novoamor shares my view on pollution. He combines ideas of the philosopher Nietzsche and the prophet Jonah: Eternal return, garbage as the nucleus of evolution, death as rebirth. And garbage is aestheticized and its beauty is shown. The scene from 4:26 on really gave me goose bumps. Did you determine the embryo posture?

And the video has aspects of dance, as it was shot underwater with freedivers. Enjoy:

Trying to stay dance related: There are some Tango events on the sand, and some people even dance getting their feet wet in the water. California used to have a weekly event, but in this time of COVID I don't see it now. Here's an example from the past:
