Dancing In Reverse

When I saw the thread title I thought it was going to go a different way. Once in a private lesson (for Standard) I spent a hilarious 5m working with my teacher on the question: "What if we wanted to dance around the floor in the other direction?" The hold has to use opposite hands, the offset between partners has to be on the opposite side, steps have to use opposite legs, etc.

We didn't waste much time on it but it seemed to be rather a great equalizer in skill levels to me, for the few minutes in which we gave it "a whirl".

OOooooohhhh! Yes! I did a “Mirror” Foxtrot routine several years ago (with a different Pro). After I figured out “Mirror Promenade Position”, the rest of the “mirror” positions just sort of fell into place. And once former Pro and I got things a bit polished, a lot of people didn’t even realize that we were dancing in “mirror.”

I loved that routine.
