daylight savings Time for 4 more weeks?

Or do it right the first time.

For my TV and/or VCR, I'll turn off adjusting for daylight savings (DST) and will just need to change them manually each time.

But my ME uses a utility program, D4 (for the fourth dimension, time), that accesses a time server and adjusts the computer's clock accordingly. So besides turning off automatically adjusting for DST I also change the time zone over one to the east, from Pacific to Mountain. Then when we go off DST in November, I'll change the time zone back to Pacific.

My cell phone changed just fine but, I think it's based on the signal coming from my carrier and not internal to the phone. It also changes automatically when I travel to a different time zone.

This morning, my cell phone hadn't changed. It's set to automatically adjust its time, which it gets from cell towers. I just checked it again and it's correct now (1414 when I checked), whereas it wasn't correct about an hour ago. Don't know what took it so long.

Maybe the cell tower was programmed to change it at 2pm instead of 2am?

Ah, yes! The old 12-hour-clock-mentality trick! Third time I've fallen for it this week.

You're probably right about that. In one job we'd get PCs set up by a vendor and the clocks were invariably off by 12 hours, which told me that the clocks had been set in the afternoon -- eg, the tech had used the TIME command with a time of 2:14 and forgot to tell it PM, so the computer figured it was 02:14 and not 14:14.

Actually, I've been using 24-hour time for the past 38 years. Much less ambiguous.

No, my computer did not change automatically, and now I have to figure out how to do it!

Ok, I fixed it. I wonder if it will change next week or whenever it is that we usually change the time.

The clock in my car uses 24 hours. After noon, it still takes me several seconds subtract 12 from the time on the display even though I've had the car nearly 6 years. Maybe it's time for me to get a new car. ;-)

bottom right hand corner of sceen. It shoudl show your time if you have a pc. DOuble-click and that will bring up a window and you can change it there. ;-)

Ooh! What kind of car is it that a 24-hour clock? Mine only does a lousy 12 hours. Like my cell phone.
