Divided Brain

It turns out my understanding, and that of many articles I've read, about the left/right divide of the brain are not all that accurate.

I think the concept is still interesting for thinking about ways to teach tango.

Definitely interesting. I knew a little of that before, particularly that many people mis-categorize the whole right/left brain divide. Especially on this entire forum. ;)

Well, if we are to apply this theory of understanding to teaching tango, a teacher needs to both foster an intuitive understanding of tango and allow for proper contextualization of the input. Simply throwing intuitive input at them will only allow those with an already refined filter to absorb what they need to know. The filter has to be trained to contextualize, even as the student is pushed to open themselves to different sensory input.
