I generally don't care for line dancing, but was able to get into this one enough to do it a few times.

I have never seriously macarenad... I think I tried once but couldn't bring myself to really do it... it's the type of repulsion that morks it's way up my spine.

I was one of those exceptionally unfortunate people to have to live through the first wave of Macarena in its home country of Spain. It would take the Spaniards to invent something like it. I had the double misfortune to move back to the United States a year or two later, when it was first catching on here. So, I decided to leave the country again. Oddly enough, it lasted so long, I almost considered setting up camp in Djibouti until the coast cleared, but a friend in Djibouti advised me against it. It had even taken hold there. You just cannot escape such things.
What does mork mean?

I join the "never macerena even if I am being skinned alive" club. I have never done the macerena. I have danced while that was playing, but I've always done my own thing. :) I think Swing Kitten described my feelings pretty well. [shudder...shiver just thinking about it!!]

"morks" translates into works Will35?!!?

I get it. Morks=works. Hey, the Macarena would be a pretty good torture technique, you know, being skinned alive, the trick with the honey on the anthill, the iron maiden, and the macarena.

Sarah tries desperately to imagine someone macarening seriously.
I imagine that it would probably look somewhat Monty-python-ish.
I answered - time for a bathroom-break. Hey, YKIOK,IJNMK.

Cheers
Sarah

I was actually the first "just shoot me" vote...so definately count me in with the M = dirty word/torture camp.

You described it completely for me. What I'm even more incredulous about is how long that evil abomination stayed around! YIKES!
I voted "Just Shoot Me"

Has too many moves . . .
Even Pros can't do it . . .
Laugh is what it makes me do . . .
Liked by only a handful . . .

Not on your life . . .
Only if I'm drunk . . .

To be really honest, one of my best friends is Jewish, and he was married last month, and for fun and for their first wedding dance together, the DJ played the Macarena and we all had to dance up on the dance floor with them . . . then the real wedding dance song was played.

I suffered all through the dance . . . and probably was one of handful of individuals that really knew how to do it correctly!

Yes. I went to a wedding recently, too, and the DJ had this macarena obsession. He wouldn't let anyone escape. So what the heck, I did it. Usually, though, I try to find an empty corner and go samba. Much more fun for me. :)
