Does anyone else have to sacrifice dance for after the holiday bills lol?

I was wondering if anyone else was in the same boat as me. I have to sacrifice the month of January in order to pay off a couple things. I'm looking to get a second job, but it seems as though as soon as the holidays come your money is gone lol. I was offered free dance lessons by a very special friend of mine, but I couldn't accept the offer. Now of course I'm not stopping completely, but I do have to give it up for just a short time. And what kind of stinks about after the holidays is that all of your other bills usually come (unless yours start at the beginning of the month). I have a huge telephone bill to pay for amongst other things, and those as well seem to double during Christmas. But hey the sacrifices are worth it just to see other people happy. ;)

That was the silver lining in my snow cloud. Since I couldn't make it to Denver, I decided to work so I wouldn't loose any pay. Also, my airfare was refunded so, I don't have to miss any lessons because of finances. :D

Lol... I posted my telephone bill for Friday, so I had time to deposit everything by then. My account is fine, but I just don't like being below what it usually is. Then I have two more people to pay off for other things, then I'll be good to go again. I'm thinking about getting a weekend job. I'm not sure what yet. I've got my resume updated, so it's all good to go! I'm happy about that. ;)

Yeah I'm doing pretty good, but I do have to sacrifice though! I wish that I didn't have to do so. ;)

Never understood the idea of sacrifice, which almost always implies that the sacrificer is enduring a loss or suffering through something in order to benefit another.

Such endurance could be selfless (in which case I find the word sacrifice a misnomer, because it is no longer for the other person but yourself), or selfish (in which case its not sacrifice any longer because the word implies the endurance of a loss for another)...

But yeah, I know what you mean - that you are happier trading off one comfort (dancing) for another (making your loved ones happy) and deriving more pleasure from this tradeoff.

Fortunately my Christmas and birthday money took care of my extra holiday expenses. And I even saved a little something. :D

am with MQ on this...I get no b-day gift, no mother's day gift, no, well, nothing in order to dance as I please...and I count myself very fortunate...

You guys are so silly. I'd take food over dance any day lol (it's my medicine talking I swear)! But not food before dance... especially if it can do a number on your system lol. You don't want to gross out the teacher. ;)

Right now, the next person who puts ham or turkey in front of me is going to get barfed on. If I eat dinner at all tonight, it's going to be a nice meat-free, dressing-free, gravy-free salad.
