Donating Dancesport Wear to College Teams

Probably best is Size 10 any shoes-- S/S or L/R-- or lacking that L/R in good condition of any size. And thank you so much, we really appreciate it, by the way.

It really is great-- we're so proud of their group. The rest of us Upper-Levels really wish we were that consistently competitive at competitions.

Okay, I will look into getting some Gem-Tac-- this is going to be a big project but I think it will be worth it to get our dresses looking like they're in tip top shape again. :) Thank you so much for your advice.
Your team member picked the items up tonight. I tossed in a real nice new mens blue stoned latin shirt that has been hanging around a while for one of your guys.
Please, it you are at Harvard this weekend, stop over and see me. I would be most honored if your team would consider wearing my new patches when they dance or maybe even on their team jackets, if they have them.

Bottom line for any ballroom attire hoarders out there: If you've got it, can't sell it, don't wear it, don't want it then don't keep it. Give it to someone who needs it, wants it, fits into it, and will appreciate it.
The generosity will come back to you someday in Aces, Hearts, and Diamonds!
:D

Thank you so much for everything-- we really appreciate it. You cannot imagine how much this kind of support means to us. Most of us actually are going to support RPI's competition on Saturday instead of Harvard. The major problem with Harvard is that it's the second weekend of our Spring Break so we all have to move back into our dorm rooms on Sunday and wouldn't be able to dance on Sunday. Plus we feel good sending almost 20 competitors to RPI, whose competition has been diminished by having Harvard the same weekend.

I'm going to try this again...

My name is Mariah and I am the current treasurer of the University of Toledo Ballroom Dance Society (we're in Ohio). If anyone is willing to donate to us we will take pretty much anything, but simply basic costumes, practice wear, and shoes would be wonderful! We can be contacted through ut_bds (at) yahoo (dot) com. (Sorry it won't let me post email)

Please send my best to RPI if you think of it. I would love to attend their event next year. It is always nice to support other teams. Kudos to you all.

Can you elaborate a little bit on what would be most useful?
There's: "Our team members have no shoes. They dance in socks. With holes in them. And they stand on the sidewalk holding cans begging for spare change."
Or: "We have some team members moving up in the ranks and it would be great if we had a nice ballgown or latin dress for competitions."

:p

Do you have a team meeting this week? Send me an email ttlead (at) comcast (dot) net
I tried sending you an email like a week ago, but never got a response so I'm not sure if you're getting my emails? We don't have team meetings too often, probably our next one won't be for at least another couple weeks.

Out of the three, practice clothing would be the most practical. Every semester we have problems getting appropiate clothing on our dancers. We always have a struggle to find affordable clothing that would be good to dance in, especailly at comps.

Shoes would be next. Most of the dancers have shoes, but there are several people who cannot afford to buy shoes of their own. Some have gone semesters without appropiate shoes because of this.

We are unable to give away additional merchandise as we have already gone over budget but I am more than happy to offer ridiculously low prices on the practice wear I have in stock. If any teams are interested in maybe 30% off my regular prices you may private message me and I can send a list of what I have. I don't mind dropping prices to help.:)

Err... not to be argumentative, but shoes should be #1. You can buy (or even make) skirts and dresses cheap at thrift stores, and men should have at least one set of black slacks and button-up. They might not be "dancewear," but they work just fine. Nothing can replace dance shoes.

Hi there! I wonder if it would be possible to put in a request for a non-USA University (England)? There does seem to be one other institution on the list from out of the States. From what I've seen the board is primarily American, but I believe I've seen a few fellow countrymen (and women!) around. I thought it might be worth a try.

Hey Janson, I'm having a clear out this summer and will PM you if there's anything my uni team doesn't snatch up. Are you after anything in particular? I think the team might still be selling off dresses to raise funds for the club.

Hello, I would just like to say that we are also looking for donations of dancewear for use in competitions. Male and female: shoes, syllabus-level practice wear, dresses, shirts, trousers. Anything that still has even a little bit of life left in it.
We've so far not built up a wardrobe of team owned clothing, but would love to start.
Please contact myself (Team Captain) via DF or on tak202[at]exeter.ac.uk
