Dress i like

Based on the ebay story I would suspect they are copying a dress they got elsewhere.

If the bra straps were attached incorrectly, it leads me to believe that they were copying a dress rather than following standardized instructions.

I'm assuming this is a shop, not one person. Even so, one person would hopefully make every dress the same way to match their selling photo.

I was randomly on ebay and came across this dress! I really like this dress & i kind of want to get it for an upcoming competition! Opinions please?:) there are lots of pirctures of it if you scroll up!

In the past few years, I have bought about 10 shirts and two pairs of pants from this shop. Their service is good, but none of the goods I bought from them is satisfactory. I can't wear them in competitions or any decent parties. IMHO, buying any dresses from this shop or any dance dress shops in Hong Kong, China, or Vietnam is a gamble. You will not be happy in most cases, but you get decent dresses occasionally. Some people like myself are born river boat gamblers, who keep on making the same mistakes. If anyone wants good "made in USA" dresses, I recommend dream4dress . com. The costs are similar to those of the Vietnamese made dresses but quality is excellent. In case the dress does not fit well, you can always pick up a phone and raise a hell with them - which I have never done thus far.

I checked their site and couldn't find a place to order. Do you have to call them to order or do you have to visit their store? Or is there a different place to order their stuff online?

I may be wrong, but I believe that this shop is a different shop from the one DancinDrea19 was talking about.

It could be. I didn't see a name listed, but I was going by the picture of the back of the dress which looks identical to one of the pictures on the site, except for the flaw in the elastic.

I guess I would just be wary of buying something from so far away, in case something was wrong with it.

Latino Dresses

Have bought about five or six dresses from them--ball gowns and Latin dresses. They are excellent both in terms of service and workmanship and their dresses look better in actuality than in their photos. As I previously posted, Americans aren't familiar with the fact that the Vietnamese are considered the best tailors of Asia and are well known for their needlework and particularly, artistry in embroidery and design. The stone work is quite stunning and some of the dresses look a lot more expensive than what they actually cost.

My experience with them is that Jasmine, the owner, is very helpful so you end up actually getting a custom made job if you send your measurements (and I do advise this) and specific changes you want made--different colors, trim, stones etc.

If you are like me and do lots of shows and comps but haven't got the kind of money to buy dresses over $1,000 ( and probably don't know what to do with $5,000 dresses when you're tired of them!!) they are a good bet. If you ask for changes and coming as these dresses do from North Vietnam, the shipping may take a little longer, so give Jasmine your target date for plenty of leeway.

P.S. I don't have a personal investment with them--just a very satisfied customer who can't afford the "high end" stuff!!

I used email to order six pairs of Latin pants in different colors and stripes. They all come out to be perfect. This was one of few pleasant experiences.

good to hear

The dress is cute, that said, I had made an experimental purchase from Latino when I first started, as I had seen a latin dress I also really liked and could afford. I would also suggest, as well, print a the pictures of this dress. Find a recommended seamstress, buy the materials (lycra and stones) and have it made for you. The picture of the dress I had purchased was better than the actual product. But if you really like the dress, go ahead and try the vendor, personally - I will never purchase from them again.
