DWTS - Pro dancer Competition

it definitely won't result in more professional ballroom dancing, just some added fake drama leading up to the same stuff.

Hm, this is interesting.... I can pretty much guess who'll win this comp, or at least who'll be the best for the show.

I just went and looked it up, because I was intrigued by what Bella said.

The six contestants are:

Mayo Alanen
Brent Borbon
Afton Delgrosso
Anna Demidova
Genya Mazo
Snow Urbin

Huh. Quite an assortment, in terms of accomplishment.

So I take it this is going to be a dancing and personality-based competition, not a teaching competition, even though once on the show, teaching and choreographing will be the winner's main tasks.

One name is entirely unfamiliar to me, and another barely familiar, while three of them are well-known and I've seen them dance on many occasions. Wonder how they culled to this list of six. In any case, it will be interesting to see this play out.

I would also be interested in having the opportunity to vote pros who only got to be on for one season back on the show, IF they were interested in returning. (And I hope they will renew their new people from this season, Dmitry Chaplin and Chelsie Hightower!)

Possible candidates, to the best of my recollection:
-Jesse DeSoto
-Brian Fortuna (He's gone on to do the British version.)
-Inna Brayer
-Corky Ballas
-Nick Kosovich
-Fabian Sanchez
-Inna Brayer
-Charlotte Jorgensen
-Andrea Hale
-Elena Grinenko (Okay, technically she was on twice, but both were short stays.)

I'd be interested in a list of pros that they've had under contract for the show but never used. I know there's at least one local pro who signed contract with show, and for whatever reason they ended up not using them (Besides bringing back pros that were popular, as it is show business, I know they supposedly make some effort ot match the pros to the stars.). I suspect there are pros on that list that we'd all be interested in seeing on the show.

3 factors (not including sub-factors): versatility, credibility, image. With that said, I'm sure you'll be able to figure out my picks for the show. Almost positive Snow will be on there due to her experiences with SYTYCD, DWTS tour and showdances.

Good points, but what about the Mazo and Delgrosso family ties?

Speaking of family ties, perhaps I am working with some incorrect information but isn't Snow the sister of Lena Kosovich? Nick has been on the show before. I think LeNique is doing some of the costuming for the show but that may have been in the past...

-- but, Bella, remember the audience is voting; and Snow didn't last very long on SYTYCD. I think a lot will depend on how the dancers come across on the program, but w/out that, I would say Mayo or Afton would appeal more to the mainstream audience.

Casey, remember these are my factors for the show as you have yours. I'm sure Snow has gained a bigger fan base since her debut on the DWTS tour. Ballroom dancing is much more appealing now than her days on SYTYCD. There's no reason for me to list my picks, especially since I don't intend to offend dancers I respect. Snow is an obvious pick due to her multiple appearances on DWTS, thus already developing connection with the fans of DWTS.
