DWTS Season 5, Week 10 Final (Spoilers)

Mel's cha cha was pretty good, I wish she'd use her knees more. What was up with her sitting on her husband's lap? For a second I thought she wouldn't get up! Maria's samba was entertaining, I would have liked to have seen it be more sharp.

Mel's cha-cha seemed to have minimal content, and in at least one spot she wasn't dancing the same moves as Maks when it seemed the routine called for this.

Marie's samba seemed to have a problem with energy level and she seemd off in places, too.

Helio's footwork seemed off in a few places, and again it seemed like a sense of stiffness returned.

So far ... I'd rank Mel a notch ahead of Marie and Helio but not by much.

Mel's freestyle seemed to have a bunch of interesting ideas molded together without a lot smooth transition from beginning to end.

I agree with Mel's freestyle, it was kind of all over the place, I liked one of her lifts a lot where she spun around Maks after he pulled her up off the floor.

And Marie, we get it, you sell dolls....

I believe Marie's idea of a doll dancing might have been better had they taken it from the wind up into swing dancing, followed by the doll slowly winding down at the end because then her freestyle would have had the flow of her idea with some dance in the middle which would have likely given her better score.

Not real impressed with anything tonight. And the judges' scores weren't real surprising with their total non-resemblance to anything related to the dancing. Kind of like every other episode this season.

Helio's freestyle seemed to be the best of the evening, although it was interesting (and not surprising) to see his lifts weren't quite as smooth as the Max and Jonathan lifting Mel and Marie.

I like Helio and Jullianne's routine, the lifts were good for Helio's first time doing them! The content was much better than the other two.

I was just totally unimpressed with Mel's freestyle: a lot of time sitting in the chair at the start, a bit of standing around follows as Mak danced and then finally she starts her dance. Which just didn't work for me.

Marie's was using the excuse of "Doll Movements" to cover her own stiffness as a dancer. In the practice clips, I thought her lifts looked like she was as graceful as a sack of potatos, and the lifts in the final dance were about the same.

Helio freestyle wasn't that good, but like Len, in comparation, best of the night!

If we did the vote based on "Judges Pick" dance, Mel wins it all. With the freestyle added, Mel slips down, in my opinion.

Wow, was really disappointed in the freestyles this season! Mel's was slow and cumbersome and I kept waiting for them to get going but they never did. And Marie's idea was good but when he wound her up she should have let loose until she wound down as DP said. The way they did it, I saw lifts but really NO dancing. What were they thinking? Helio and Julianne's routine was entertaining but he messed up on some of the tricks again and he is just NOT that great...if he wins it will be because of his smile and his personality because he's just not the most improved or the best dancer. If Marie wins it, it will be because she has the most fans. That leaves Mel, but even though she seems a bit better dancer, I'll be disappointed if she wins because anyone who just needs an hour to prepare a dance for a show is quite obviously more of a dancer than they let on. Also was disappointed in her chacha. Marie's samba was cheesy and campy and I could hardly bear to watch. Loved Helio and Julianne's jive outfits and her beginning, but yeah, his footwork was still off. Totally a disappointing season. BUmmer....

Well, to me the freestyles were disappointing, but Helio was the most fun. Everyone loved him at my house (including the guys). I'm going to miss him not being on that show. And his lifts were extremely hard. (I was just happy to see none of the dancers fall!) But yeah technically he's not the greatest, but he still to me has that little extra something special. And oh, I was very surprised at the scores. I thought they were going to go all out, but apparently not. I would have scored some a little bit lower, but they were still well... were fair enough.

I like Helio, give him kudos for all he did, and enjoy him very much - yet . . . to put it positively - Julianne made the most of those lifts!

So, are these guys going to dance again tomorrow night? They should be given another chance to redeem themselves.

I think the idea of having the judges choose a dance that they felt the star needed to work was a good one in concept. However, it decreases the likelihood of many 10s that get the crowd going in the Finals. And, if the freestyles aren't good either, the Finals end on a disappointing note. Maybe, they should have had the stars each do three dances, including one of their choice. This ensures ending on a positive note on some dance!
