Do we know who is doing what?
And just a little related to this thread:
Last season HustleNflow (did I remember her forum name correctly?) posted quite a bit on the DwtS threads, lots of informative info, and she often starting the weekly show and result threads. The last post of her's was at the end of 2008, discussing this upcoming new season of DwtS. Haven't seen anything from her for months, wondering if anyone knows if she's ok?

You know, this is just my opinion of course, but Carrie Ann went on and on about seeing Melissa's passion and how she totally believed that she was into it, when to me I saw more believable passion and commitment to the dance from Shawn (yet they scored her lower). I thought in some of the shots where they showed Melissa's face, she looked uncomfortable and unsure and sometimes just like whatever. But I caught plenty of times when Shawn looked more into it and seemed to have a more rumba-like face and even seemed to be able to provide some believable passion. She also looked more smooth....Melissa sometimes just seemed to walk around without trying to make it look very sexy. Dont get me wrong, Melissa did great, I just preferred Shawn's rumba and wondered why they scored her so much lower.

Some funny moments with Lil Kim and Derek....when Lil Kim gets confused about who her character for the dance is and the only thing she can come up with is "Thelma and Louise". And Derek, who loves to have wardrobe give him "Grease" hair, doesnt correct her. Then when he took her to the car show, he says "some of these people were actually around in the 50s and can tell us what it was like" or something to that effect, as if the 50s were sooooo long ago. Hellooooo, my parents and probably his (or at least his aunts/uncles) were around in the 50s. It wasnt that long ago. Thought that was pretty funny...
Was afraid Kim's boobs were going to fall out...and something did happen at the end because Tom had to say something to her but yet there was still white visible from out of the top of her shirt and the camera only showed the neck up after that. lol!
Queen Latifah was in the audience cheering for Kim. wonder if she's thinking of coming on the show?

LT and Edyta....at least she didnt look miserable this week because he actually had fun with it(thanks to Warren Sapp). She's just looked miserable for a while now so I'm glad they had a good week, though I'd rather they were the next to go. And again, just my opinion of course, but I really DONT like her bellbottom legwarmers.
Cheslie and Ty...as much as I like Ty, he was terrible this week. Chelsie HAS proved herself to be a good choreographer and teacher and an overall great addition to the show, though. (moreso than Dmitry for sure)
Gilles and Cheryl...finally! a dance he's not naturally good at. hee hee! Love him, but eh, he wasnt that terrific this week.
Steve-o and Lacey. Man that was painful to watch. He kind of went bam! with every foot step and wham! every time he put his arm out. And as much as I dont mind the risque outfits on the show (love 'em actually, as the girls look great in them and of course because they are sparkly!), its kind of funny that I dont like it at all when they make their outfits look like nightclothes(though Lacey looked great). Its like it makes it so much more risque when they do that (when in reality it doesnt, so I dont know where I get that from). I do love Steve-o but he really did bad tonight and i wouldnt mind if he went home too.

Chuck and Julianne....thought her stockings which matched his shirt were a little much (though she looked great of course). He didnt do bad, but I dont know. Didnt like it all that much. Gilles he is not. I think part of what made it look sexy was alot of Julianne and a very little of Chuck...her overcompensating for his undercompensating.. not sure if that is what I'm trying to say so I'll stop there. I dont think I really like the girlfriend/boyfriend couple as teacher/student either. Wish they wouldnt do that again on the show....

I agree that I didn't care for the bedroom outfits for Chuck and Julianne and for Lacey and Steve-O. Just didn't care to see them in their underwear.
Yes, I also don't care for the couple thing. Chuck keeps calling her "mean" when she's trying to be tough with him. He or Steve-O could leave. They are both pretty bad dancers with Steve-O being the worst!
Do you notice that LT doesn't ever touch Edyta when they are not dancing. Not even a hug when they get a good score. What up with that?

Lil Kim and Derek's number definitely was the winner of the night! So much fun!!!

Generally I don't like the cheesy stuff that they show other than practice during the practice videos, but I will say that Mark won a couple nice guy points for his faux prom thing for Shawn. Aww!

What did Tony Dovolani do to the people in wardrobe? This is the second time this season they have given him a ugly shirt. I get that it was supposed to match Melissa, but I'm not sure I want to see a man in a yellow fading into Pepto pink untucked-in shirt.

Was thinking the same thing myself...not a fan of either her dress or his shirt for that matter. I found myself too distracted by the bad costumes to even focus on the rumba.

The 'judges' (only one of whom should actually be allowed to judge anybody's ballroom dancing...) are chronically inconsistent on that show.
I also think they hold people like Shawn to a much higher standard than most others, but since their scores start off way too high to begin with, they have little to no wiggle room as the season progresses.
Similar things happened with Kristi Yamaguchi and, to some extent, Brooke Burke, who were also obviously held to a much higher standard than the rest of the field.
The only dance I've watched so far is Ty & Chelsie's and I thought they were way too harsh on him.
May not have been the most jivey of Jives, more like a Country line dance gone bouncy, but imho, he's at least as good of a dancer as Helio Castornevez - who mysteriously won a couple of seasons ago......
