Giampiero/Anna have earned it. There was no favor from any judges. They have worked very hard; the path to the glory is not easy, and it is particularly true in their case. If there are any judge favors, why has it taken so many bitter defeats for them to finally win this one? These archirivals will meet again soon at USDC.

So far, every person I spoke to told me that they were incredible. Every person told me it was well earned.

I think what's happening in the Standard is very exciting! The Rhythm too! This is what happens when judges mark what they see on the night of the competition. I like the idea that anything can happen and that couples can move ahead. It improves the quality of everyone's dancing because the couples that are "on top" start to feel that they have to watch their backs and the up and comers feel like they can actually make some headway.

Me too, love it! I pay more attention to rhythm/smooth than standard/latin, but still love that. Especially since I have several friends coming up through RS into Open, I like to know there's some opening for upsets.

It was, without a doubt incredible, A & G looked like they were having a fabulous time on the floor! Very fun to watch, as well as all the others!!

I don't think Mayo and Michelle have been taking any dances off of Slavek and Marzena...but who knows...should be fun to see how that turns out and how the rhythm turns out.

i personally find this very odd.

....Although, it may be due to the obstructive costume decision on Natalie's part, IMO. Can't judge what you cant see.

If Embassy's marks are any indication, I think Marzena and Slavek have this one in the bag. Mayo and Michelle nearly took the Waltz, but the other dances were clearly in Slavek and Marzena's favor. I think they are undefeated this year, right??
