Europe Salsa Championship 2004 is held

September 3rd and 4th in "DGI Huset" In Aarhus, Denmark

There’s not much news so far, but I’m looking forward to see some great salsa dancers in my hometown. 8) 8) 8)

Jorge Cordero will be playing live both days.

I got something translated from Spanish, but it is most about the school.
The homepage link with the event is not up yet. There is properly some Latinos “manjana” over this event.

Tickets 165 / 265 DKK for one /two days,
And 150 DKK for a buffet.

100 DKK = 16,50 USD = 13,45 EUR

First prize: $. 3,500, -
Second prize: $. 500, -

The event happen during the “Town Party”, so there will be a lot of other cultural things happening. The Salsa event is listed in the Danish part, but doesn’t add much information.

The 2004 Aarhus Festival will take place between the 27th of August and the 5th of September. This year´s theme is 'From Aros with Eros' (Aros is the old Norse name for the city of Aarhus).

The 2004 theme of the Aarhus Festival concentrates on a concept: love and human relations. The general tenor of the programme will be based on fundamental values and issues. What are we doing with our lives, each other and love?

In 2004 the Aarhus Festival will in addition be able to celebrate its 40th anniversary, and the theme of 'From Aros with Eros' indicates that this is also a year in which local activities will receive special attention.

Wish I could be there... I really liked Aarhus and many of the lovely salseras I had the pleasure of dancing with last summer.

Heyya

Hi! This is my first post ever on dance-forums. Just signed up a minute ago. I've a beginner at salsa for the past 2 months now and omigosh it's so much fun! Wish I had been more aware of the Europe Championships in Århus so I could have watched it or maybe even gone to see it. :( Do you have a lot of salsa going on in Århus??

Welcome to DF Sonia.

Unless my reading and comprehension skills have really taken a nose dive lately that championship hasn't happened yet, it's over a month from now, september 3d and 4th, so still plenty of time for you to arrange to go there.

Welcome to the Dance Forums Sonia! :D

I think you'll have a really good time if you get a chance to check out the salsa scene over in Århus, I was there for a couple of weeks last summer and was really impressed by how freindly everyone was.

Hehehe :D I just ordered 2 tickets for the European Championship Finals in Århus.....(picture me rubbing my hands in glee now :D). Can't wait to go see the pros doing their thing! :P

Due to unforeseen events we regret to have to cancel the European Championship of Salsa 2004.

It’s over before it started.

The only reason is apparently too embarrassing, or a secret.

/Me disappointed!

Oh -- what a shame. Sorry to hear it.

Does this mean the European Championships will be held somewhere else, or has the whole thing been cancelled altogether, including national-level comps? Hmmm, wonder why. :?

In the meantime, I'll have to find another opportunity to dance with you, John . Any plan for a trip to the UK or another European country?

Ouch! That's terrible about the salsa championships. John, had you already booked your tickets? I tried calling them but no answer! :(:(:( Wonder what in the world is going on! And in the meantime, I'm disappointed :?  :(

I was going too buy the tickets.
Some promise of some “studio” discount kept me waiting.

There’s a note about a reschedule, but right now I doubt if it possible to get anything together at this scale. However there are some disappointed Danes on the websites. Ill let you know when a good story about who, what and why slips through. :?
