Eye contact and social dancing

I talk to beginners because if I don't I start thinking about other things and lose any chemistry/connection with my partner.

When I am dancing with better leads I don't talk much because there is already so much silent conversation happening that I want to put a superficial vocal connection on top of it and ruin the moment.

I am perfectly capable of carrying on a conversation, not just small talk, up to the point where moves that have pivots in them appear.

There are moments when conversation is easier: between begin of music and begin of the actual movement, during easy and repetitive patterns, and during any unexpected pauses like when the DJ discovers that he has started to play a wrong song.
