Fabric for Smooth Suit?

Does anyone have any recommendations when it comes to a suiting fabric? I'm looking at three samples right now:
  1. Worsted Wool (traditional tuxedo material)
  2. Wool Gabardine
  3. Stretch Poly
I checked my current costume (pants and a vest) and it's all stretch poly. I just feel a bit odd ordering a tuxedo in that fabric. My concerns are:
  1. Will the fabric look good in a tuxedo?
  2. Will it breath?
  3. Will it still allow me to move as much as I want?

I'd be concerned that the gabardine wouldn't breathe...and lord knows I sweat enough as is. As I recall it was developed and used for raincoats since it is so tightly woven. Would it be flexible enough for smooth?

I'm ordering it from dancepants.com. A friend has a suit from them and I liked it a lot.

agree with Larinda

i have a smooth jacket/pants and a tailsuit in this material i sweat a lot too but its not too bad

Onik made my currrent ones my first ones were from dancepants.com Onik is a big step up in quality ( and cost of course)

Personally, I'd prefer worsted wool.

The lining material is going to affect whether it breathes more than a wool shell will.
