Do you have a favorite song from a movie soundtrack?

I think mine is Blue's Theme from the 60's movie The Wild Angels.

I thought someone would never ask

I love the theme from Dr Zhivago, Ice Castles, Born Free, To Sir with Love, The Lion King, "Diamonds are Forever" (don't remember which James Bond movie that was from), Dance with Me, The Piano, The Godfather, Once Upon a Time in America, Love Story, The Little Prince, (of course West Side Story), Jonanathon Livingston SeaGull, The Student Prince  I think I will stop there for now

The lyrics from Love Story, "Where do I begin"

Where do I begin
To tell the story of how great a love can be
The sweet love story that is older than the sea
The simple truth about the love she brings to me
Where do I start

With her first hello
She gave new meaning to this empty world of mine
There’ll never be another love, another time
She came into my life and made the living fine
She fills my heart

She fills my heart with very special things
With angels’ songs , with wild imaginings
She fills my soul with so much love
That everywhere I go I’m never lonely
With you my love, who could be lonely
I reach for her hand-it’s always there

How long does it last
Can love be measured by the hours in a day
I have no answers now but this much I can say
I know I’ll need her till the stars all burn away
And she’ll be there

Diamonds are Forever is from the James Bond movie of the same name. Of the Bond films my faves are A View to a Kill and You Only Live Twice.

A James Bond fan I see  Yes, Diamonds are Forever (that should have been an easy one :( )

Some of my favorites are:

End of the Road - From Boomerang - Sung by Boys to Men
Over the Rainbow-From Wizard of Oz- Sung by Judy Garland
Because You Loved Me-From Up Close & Personal-Sung by Celine Dion
My Heart Will Go On-From Titanic-Sung by Celine Dion
I Will Always Love You-From The Bodyguard-Sung by Whitney Houston

That song from Bagdad Café - I think it is called Calling you.

Oh, and a less known song from Cabaret called Maybe this time I'll win but I suppose songs from filmed musicals do not really count.

 Oooooh. I hope so. As it is supposed to be your favourite track, and not necessarily on MTV

I believe it was a musical first, then a film was made - another one of my favourite songs is from Kismet:

She: Oh why do the leaves, Of the Mulberry tree, Whisper differently now, And why is the nightingale singing , At noon on the Mulberry bow, For some most mysterious reason, This isn't the garden I know, No it's paradise now, That was only a garden, A moment ago

He: Take my hand, I'm a stranger in paradise, All lost in a wonderland, A stranger in paradise, If I stand starry-eyed, That's a danger in paradise, For mortals who stand beside, An angel like you
I saw your face, And I ascended, Out of the commonplace, Into the rare, Somewhere in space, I hang suspended, Until I know, There's a chance that you care

Won't you answer the fervent prayer, Of a stranger in paradise, Don't send me in dark despair, From all that I hunger for, But open your angel's arms, To the stranger in paradise, And tell him, That he need be, A stranger no more

She: I saw your face, And I ascended, Out of the commonplace, Into the rare

Both: Somewhere in space, I hang suspended

She: Until I know

He: Till the moment I know

She: There's a chance that you care

He: There's a chance that you care

She: Won't you answer the fervent prayer, Of a stranger in paradise

He: Don't send me in dark despair, From all that I hunger for

Both: But open your angel's arms, To the stranger in paradise, And tell me that I may be, A stranger no more.

Oh good.. Musicals count!

One of my favorites is Hernandos Hideaway from The Pajama Game.

also

Dance Like This - DD2
Puerto Rico - Salsa (This song makes me dance)
I feel Pretty - Anger Management

How about "Hello Young Lovers" from The King and I (The original film, with Yul Brenner)

or Oklahoma! from Oklahoma

or Old Man River from Showboat

or Stand by Me re-released version from Stand by Me

or Do Re Mi fromThe Sound of Music

(I definitely think musicals should count. LOL)

"He's A Pirate", the main theme from Pirates of the Caribbean! It's perfect :!:

Also I have to add "The ABC Cafe -- Red and Black" from Les Mis, particularly the middle verse:

Had you been there tonight you might know how it feels
To be struck to the bone in a moment of breathless delight
Had you been there tonight you might also have known
How your world can be changed in just one burst of light
And what was right seems wrong, and what was wrong seems right.
Red -- I feel my soul on fire!
Black -- my world if she's not there!
Red -- the color of desire!
Black -- the color of dispair!

(yes, I have a soft side  )
