FIDS controvery

Has anyone been following this controversy between FIDS and Blackpool Junior Festival? I've been reading the dancesportinfo articles but still don't quite understand what's going on but if anyone could explain it, it would be much appreciated.

By the way, what is the difference between IDSF and WDC and all those organizations in the international ballroom world that always seem to be publishing press releases accusing one another of wrong doing?

Thanks!

yes, if somebody could clarify that would be great. I picked up bits here and there - sounds like Italy wanted to pick the couples for the team match? They weren't allowed and thus forbid their couples from going? Again, I'm completely unsure so feel free to correct me.

IDSF is the Amateur organization, protecting their interest. WDC is the professional organization, protecting their interest. So any and all conflict boils down to that, regardless of how it is played out to the community.
True in general, but in this case the issue is between FIDS (the Italian counterpart to USAD) and the organizer of the Jr. Blackpool Festival (who represents neither WDC or IDSF).
