Just posted some photos from Barcelona.Eugene and Maria won the Grand Slam Latin.I am currently exploring the city as Supershag are going to help produce the Pro-am section here in 2007.Enjoy Chris

BTW whenyou go to the Supershag site click on photos

very nice pictures Chris... I noticed that there were american events scheduled (smooth and rhythm), how were they? did anyone actually compete in these categories? (I think I saw a pro/am girl and her teacher, was that it?)

Well there were only 4 pro-ams at this years event. This is why Mr Vanone has asked Supershag to help with next years event. It was really quite interesting to see that the organisers really did not have a clue how to run a pro-am event.Next year Supershag will make sure that the pro-ams are looked after in a manner that they are used to in the States.I spent a week in Barcelona checking out different hotels and lining up some different places to hold parties including an unbelievable old ballroom where Picasso used to hang out. Some of the major pro-am players have said that they will go next year and even the organiser admitted that they had told him that they were hanging off until 2007.Barcelona is an amazing city and you really could spend a couple of weeks there. I had a great time and am looking forward to 2007 as I actually will be able to run some parties there.

BTW there was some American Smooth danced by a couple from Paris.

Cheers Chris

Yes in fact Tibor from Supershag did 2 days of lectures on American style at the UKA conference at the Winter Gardens just after Blackpool.
I am hoping that if enough American style pros are dancing Pro-am in Barcelona that we can persuade Mr Vanone to run an American style event.Cheers Chris
